# Curation Portal.

Reliable patent research starts with reliable company records.

Acquisitions, subsidiaries and inconsistent filing names make patent
ownership difficult to trace. I designed Curation Portal to help
analysts clean up those relationships and associations. That internal
work supported the quality of the suite’s research and customer-facing
products.

## Verify company names

Filings may use different names for the same company. Source and verification status help analysts decide which records belong together.

## Review ownership relationships

The ownership tree links subsidiaries to their parent company. For example, patents filed by SolarCity count toward Tesla’s portfolio.

## Accept or reject a change

Each suggestion shows the proposed edit, its source and its significance. Accepted changes update the company data immediately.
